Mrs. Angela Gruner
Our principal has been with Newnan Classical School from the beginning. She and her husband were part of the six founding families. Initially she served as a first grade/lead grammar school teacher, and then moved into her current position, which she has held since year two. She holds a BS degree in Elementary Education and Special Education from Taylor University, Upland, IN and has 25 years of teaching experience. She with her husband Clayton, have three children.
   
Mrs. Natalie Whitehurst
Our Business Administrator has a BA degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Communications Major and Marketing Minor. She has been with Newnan Classical since it's beginning and served as a volunteer in her current capacity for the first several years. Mrs. Whitehurst with her husband David, have two boys attending NCS.
   
Mrs. Tina Landrum
Our Administrative Assistant comes to us with many years of administrative experience as well as skills in office management. She has three children at NCS whom she home schooled for several years until discovering classical education.
   
Mrs. Sheryl Wilson
Our Kindergarten teacher has been with us for several years. She came out of retirement to volunteer in our school and shortly thereafter was offered her current position. Mrs. Wilson and her husband Terry have two grown children. Her son is currently attending seminary and her daughter has recently completed her Masters in Christian counseling. She has approximately 20 years of teaching experience. She home schooled her two children for 10 years, and served in two other Christian elementary schools.
   
Mrs. Cheryl Hanson
Our half-day Kindergarten teacher is Cheryl Hanson. Cheryl comes to Newnan Classical School with over 20 years in the classroom. Cheryl is married to Bill, and they have 3 grown children, one of which also teaches at Newnan Classical.
   
Mrs. Rosalind Henderson
Our 1st grade teacher has a BA in Psychology from The University of Georgia, and her Masters of Education from Georgia Southern University. She is also certified as a school counselor. Mrs. Henderson served on the founding board for Providence Christian School in Covington, GA, where she also taught first grade. In addition, she taught Kindergarten and fourth grade at the Whitefield School on St. Simons Island, GA. She has two daughters, ages eight and nine.
   
Mrs. April Smith
Our second grade teacher received her BA from Clayton State University in Education. Her concentration was in Language Arts and History. She has much experience in music as well, with a specific love for the piano. She and her husband Bryan have one daughter Chloe, who attends NCS.
   
Mrs. Traycee Sandstrom
Traycee is one of our co-teachers for 3rd grade. She received her BS in Education from Baylor University. Prior to teaching at NCS, Traycee taught at Bear Creek Elementary in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, for 7 years, before having her children. She and her husband Dave have 2 boys who attend Newnan Classical.
   
Mrs. Kate Swanner
Kate is one of our co-teachers for 3rd grade. She is a Classics major at Georgia State with a concentration in Latin. Kate has taught Latin in Lower School at NCS, as well as a long- term substitute position in 3rd grade. She has recently married Jay, our Upper School English teacher. She too brings a dog to complete their family, named Ginger Ann.
   
Mrs. Billie Walburn
Our 4th grade teacher received her BA degree from Georgia State University and has taught for Newnan Classical School since 2002. Mrs. Walburn's prior experience includes writing educational curricula for a publishing house, marketing and communications. Mrs. Walburn and her husband Jeff have one grown daughter and one granddaughter.
   
Mrs. Christy Malcom
Our 5th grade teacher has been teaching at NCS since 2005. Mrs. Malcom received her BA degree in education from Georgia State University. After college she joined the Network of International Christian Schools, which took her to Seoul, Korea, where she taught fifth grade for three years. Mrs. Malcom and her husband reside in Senoia, Georgia.
   
Mrs. Melanie Tillman
Our 6th grade teacher received her BS degree in English Secondary Education from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. Born and raised in Newnan, she returned to Newnan to be near her family and taught at Northgate High School for five years. While at Northgate, she also coached junior varsity cheerleading and completed her course work to earn her certification in the gifted program. She taught in the gifted program for two years. Mrs. Tillman and her husband Joseph, who is a senior pastor at New Life Christian fellowship, reside in Newnan.
   
Mr. Jay Swanner
Mr. Swanner teaches in our Logic School and began his career at NCS in 2005. He teaches English, Math, History and Formal Logic. He received his BA in English and Religion from the University of Mobile, in Mobile, Alabama. In Mr. Swanner's first year at Newnan Classical School he taught 3rd grade. He has one dog named Roland.
   
Mr. Clint Fisher
Clint teaches in Upper School. His disciplines are in History, Formal Logic and Theology. He received his BA in Communication Studies and Religion from UNC Charlotte. Along with teaching at the school, he and his wife Tiffany are also very active teaching youth at their church. They have 2 children, Ella and Jase.
   
Mrs. Ann Lynn Whiteside
Our Latin and Art teacher attended the University of Chattanooga and has taught Latin and Art at NCS since 2000, when the school began. She came to us with eight years of experience as an art teacher in the Coweta County elementary school system. At Newnan Classical School, Mrs. Whiteside currently teaches Art to the entire school and Latin to the 5th-10th grades. She and her husband Michael have been married 44 years and have five grown children and eleven grandchildren.
   
Mrs. Kelly Tull Daniel
Our Logic School Math and Science Instructor earned her BA and JD (law) degrees from the University of South Carolina. Prior to arriving at Newnan Classical School, Mrs. Daniel held positions as an Instructor at Rutgers University Writing Center, an attorney in Newnan and pre-school teacher. She and her husband, Woodie have two children. Their oldest son attends Newnan Classical.
   
Mrs. Becky Hutchins
Our Music teacher attended the University of Oklahoma as a Music Education major. She came to Newnan Classical School in 2005. Mrs. Hutchins has experience teaching flute, guitar, piano and voice. She and her husband Russ have three children. Three of their children attend NCS.
